Voter's Choice Act

Yolo County adopted the Voter's Choice Act in 2022, modernizing how we conduct elections. The Yolo County Election Administration Plan details the implementation of the Voter's Choice Act, which includes Vote Centers, Ballot Drop Boxes, voter education & outreach, security & contingency plans, fiscal impacts, accessibility & participation disparities, and advisory committees.

2024 Amended Draft Election Administration Plan (Renewal)

Under the Voter's Choice Act (Senate Bill 450, 2016), counties must renew their Election Administration Plan publish the draft for public review, and submit the Plan to the California Secretary of State. Section 4005(b)(10)(G) of the California Elections Code requires counties to hold public meetings to update or revise the Election Administration Plan using the same process of public engagement used when adopting their original Election Administration Plan.
