PUBLIC NOTICE: Public Consultation Meetings for the Review of the Yolo County Elections Administration (EAP)

Tuesday, April 25, 2023

The Yolo County Elections Office fully transitioned to election administration under the California Voter’s Choice Act (VCA or “Act”) in 2021. Following public consultation and comments, the Yolo County Voter’s Choice Act Election Administration Plan (EAP) was approved by the California Secretary of State on March 7, 2022.

The EAP provides information to the voters of Yolo County about the VCA. It describes the vote-by-mail (VBM) process, Vote Center and Ballot Drop Box locations, and the technology that will be utilized. In accordance with the Voter’s Choice Act, within two years of the adoption of this first plan, the Yolo County Elections Office will hold public meetings to consider revising the first EAP. Every four years thereafter, the Yolo County Elections Office will hold public meetings to consider revising the EAP.

A key component of the EAP is outreach and community involvement which is critical to continue to ensure future elections are successful. The public consultation meetings to solicit feedback and discuss the Yolo County Election Administration Plan will both be held on Friday, May 5, 2023. There will be in person and zoom options. The current EAP is available on our website under the Voter's Choice Act section at https://www.yoloelections.org/voters-choice-act.

Following the public consultation meetings, proposed changes will incorporate community input and be presented in an updated Draft of the EAP for public review and a 14-day comment period. The public review will lead to an adoption of the Yolo County Final EAP after a public hearing.
