Yolo County Voter Information Guide and Vote-by-Mail Ballots now available for the November 7, 2023, Special District Election

Monday, October 9, 2023

The Yolo County Elections Office will mail a County Voter Information Guide in the vote-by-mail ballot packet to all active registered voters in the Knights Landing Community Services District on Monday, October 9, 2023, for the November 7, 2023, Special District Election. If you have not received your ballot by Monday, October 16, please contact the Elections Office.

The County Voter Information Guide includes the days and hours of operation for the Yolo County Elections Office vote center, Mobile Vote Center and Ballot Drop Box locations, candidate statements, services available at the Yolo County Elections Office, and other important information.

Voters who have “opted out” of receiving a paper version of the County Voter Information Guide may view an accessible version with translated reference ballots on the Yolo County Elections website: https://www.yoloelections.org.

Every vote-by-mail ballot comes with a first-class postage paid return identification envelope. Completed vote-by-mail ballots will be processed and counted if they are postmarked on or before Election Day, Tuesday, November 7, and received by county elections officials no later than Tuesday, November 14. Voters can also return their completed vote-by-mail ballots to any Ballot Drop Box, the Mobile Vote Center or the Yolo County Elections Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

“The integrity of the delivery and processing of vote-by-mail ballots is our top priority,” said Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters. “We continue to have an excellent relationship with local USPS representatives to ensure secure and smooth deliveries of all election materials to active Yolo County registered voters.”

Voters are Encouraged to Take the Following Steps to Prepare for the Special Election:

  • Sign-up for vote-by-mail ballot tracking at sos.ca.gov. Voters may sign-up for automated notifications about their vote-by-mail ballots by email, text, or voice call.
  • Make a plan for voting. Voters are encouraged to vote early and by mail. Please note, that there are only two vote centers for this election. The Yolo County Elections Office is open as a vote center beginning October 28 and the Mobile Vote Center in Knights Landing will only be open on Election Day, November 7.
  • Make sure you sign and date the back of your own vote-by-mail (VBM) ballot return identification envelope. Every voter’s signature on the vote-by-mail ballot return identification envelope is compared against the voter’s registration record. If a signature is missing or does not match the registration record, elections officials will contact the voter to resolve the matter. Voters can also resolve the challenge to their VBM return identification envelope by submitting a “cure statement” on our website https://www.yoloelections.org.
