Conclusion of the Canvass Period and Certification of the November 8, 2022 General Election

The Yolo County Elections Office successfully finalized the canvass process and certified the November 8, 2022, General Election. The canvass period began on Thursday, November 10, 2022 and certification and delivery of the official election results was finalized today, Thursday, December 1, 2022. Of the 118,337 registered voters in Yolo County – 68,794 ballots were counted in this election for a voter turnout of 58%. For comparison, there was a 42% voter turnout in Yolo County for the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election. Although other counties are still not finished counting, Yolo County is currently trending more than 5% above the statewide average for voter turnout this election. 

“Even with the high number of election day vote by mail voters and the unprecedented number of voters who utilized Same-Day Voter Registration services this election, we are certifying more than a week before our December 9, 2022 deadline” said Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Registrar of Voters.   

Please note that while we have certified the results for contests in our county, neighboring counties with shared contests have not provided their final results to us yet.  We will post final outcomes of shared contests as soon as they are available.
