Voter Guide for November 8, 2016

Presidential General Election

STATE SENATOR, 3rd District

Bill Dodd

STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
MEMBER OF THE STATE SENATE
DISTRICT 3
BILL DODD Age: 60
Occupation: State Assemblymember/Businessman
I grew up in a California where hard work gave you a fair
shot at a better life.
But our broken political system is making it harder to get
ahead. It's hurting middle class families who need good
schools, good jobs, and a secure retirement.
We need a new approach.
That means listening, working together, and tackling
tough problems facing California. Our leaders must
deliver results.
That's my record. I owned a successful small business
for 25 years. I've served as a local elected official, led
non-profit groups, and now serve in the State Assembly.
My approach makes me a moderate. I'm pro-jobs and
pro-environment, and a stickler about spending tax
money efficiently. I co-authored the toughest gender pay
equity law in the country.
I voted to freeze state university tuition, I oppose the twin
tunnels plan and I'm working to end offshore oil drilling.
My record of teamwork is why both Democrats and
Republicans support me, including the California
Democratic Party. And groups who can't agree on
much, like the California Chamber of Commerce and
the California Federation of Labor, both say I'm the best
candidate.
Twelve local newspapers have endorsed me. And over
200 local officials from this district, including mayors,
school board trustees, and city councilmembers, support
me. (See more at www.BillDodd.com).
Working together we can deliver a California that works
for everyone.
Thank you for your consideration. I would be honored to
have your vote.
/s/ Bill Dodd
