PUBLIC NOTICE: 10-Day Notice of Public Hearing for the Yolo County Draft Election Administration Plan (EAP) Press Release

Friday, January 14, 2022

The Yolo County Elections Office is working on fully transitioning to the model of conducting elections under the California Voter’s Choice Act (VCA). The Elections Office developed a draft Election Administration Plan (EAP) that creates a roadmap for the implementation of the VCA.

The draft EAP provides information about vote-by-mail (VBM) voting, Vote Centers, Ballot Drop Box locations and the technology that will be used. One important component of the draft EAP is the Voter Education and Outreach Plan, which specifies the methods the Yolo County Elections Office will use to get election information to voters. The draft EAP is available for public viewing on our Voter’s Choice Act webpage https://www.yoloelections.org/voters-choice-act in English, Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, and Spanish.

The Public Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom:

Following the Public Hearing, the County may adopt the EAP or will have one week to amend it, if necessary. After adoption, Yolo County Elections will submit the EAP to the Secretary of State for approval.

The Elections Office encourages all Yolo County residents to participate in this public hearing and submit public comment at the meeting. Submittals of public comment are also available via email ([email protected]), or on our website’s public comment page (https://www.yoloelections.org/voters-choice-act/contact) or by mail to: Yolo County Elections, 625 Court Street, Room B-05, Woodland, CA 95695.  Please submit all public comments at the meeting or no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
