The Yolo County Elections Office finalized the canvass and certified the September 14, 2021, California Gubernatorial Recall Election on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The official results are available on our website: https://www.yoloelections.org/election-returns/returns#county-local-contests.

  • 121,550             Registered voters in Yolo County
  • 78,048               Ballots Counted
  • 64.2%                Total voter turnout

Thus far, the recall election turnout in Yolo County is higher than the statewide average (58.1% - unofficial statewide voter turnout as of October 7, 2021). “Although not all other counties have certified, currently, Yolo County is more than 5% higher than the statewide average in terms of voter participation,” says Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters.

The preferred method to vote in Yolo County continues to be casting a vote by mail ballot. “95% of voters opted to vote by mail. This shows an upward trend from the November Presidential Election, where 90% of voters chose to utilize vote by mail,” states Salinas.
