Early Ballot Pick Up on Election Day March 3rd

In an effort to improve the speed of Election Night results, the Yolo County Elections Office will again be participating in Early Ballot Pick Up for the 2020 Presidential Primary Election. On Election Day, March 3rd, 2020, 16 locations will be included in Early Ballot Pick Up, nine locations in West Sacramento and seven locations in Davis. “By conducting Early Ballot Pick Up at high-volume polling precincts, we are able to scan ballots earlier in the day and have more robust preliminary election results available shortly after the polls close on Election Night,” stated Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters.

Early Ballot Pick Up entails two Elections representatives arriving at polling places mid-day to retrieve ballots that have been voted at the polling location between 7:00 a.m. and the time of pick up (between approximately 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.). Each team will utilize a Yolo County vehicle that will be identified with a county seal on the front doors. Sheriff’s Deputies will be on-hand to provide security both during transport and while the teams are at each location. Team members, under poll worker supervision, will access the ballot box and retrieve the ballots that have been cast. Ballots that are picked up are then taken back to the Elections Office for scanning, with results being shared after 8:00 p.m. on Election Night.

Early Ballot Pick Up will occur at the following polling locations and signage will be posted at each site:
